Irie Jamaican Kitchen is a well-established fast-casual restaurant located in Euclid & Old Brooklyn with plans for expansion in NE Ohio and beyond!
Position expectations include and are not limited to the following:
-The line cook must practice safe food handling procedures, is educated on time and temperature controls for all food, and maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area
-The line cook shall know when and how much of any item to prepare and recognizes when prep levels need to adjust to business volume
-The line cook should be able to quickly identify when ingredients or food is below standard
-The line cook should be able to communicate all food related operations in the kitchen including par levels, inventory, quality, equipment, and taste, texture, and doneness of all menu items
-The line cook will hold the Prep Cook and Dishwasher accountable for safe food handling procedures, productivity, cleanliness, and proper storage practices
Required Background:
- 1+ years of cooking experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
-Knowledge of production and scratch cooking
-Self-motivated and has a passion for hospitality in conjunction with solid culinary knowledge
-Serve meals in an attractive manner
-Must have a keen eye for detail and clean work habits
-Firm understanding of cost control and state regulations
